R.H.C.O.G. Spelling Bee competition 2026
There are 7 groups in this spelling bee competition.
1. Pre-School (5 and under) aka “P-group"
2. Adults (26-49) aka “A- group”
3. College students (19-25) aka “C- group”
4. High school students (14-18) aka “H- group”
5. Middle school students (11-13) aka “M- group”
6. Elementary school (6-10) aka “K-group”
7. Veterans (50-up) aka “V”-group”
PS. Only the H, M, E, and P-group have the option to enter the next higher group before the results of the qualifying round.
RULES & INSTRUCTIONS
Qualifying & Champion Round
Pleased write Neat & Eligible on the sheet of paper that will be provided to you.
Errors in your words will result in that specific word being opted out from your final points of tally.
There will be one qualifying round and a champion round.
Qualifying round will be a mixture of 50-60 words from the bible and secular; you will be given 30 seconds per word.
Qualifying round words will be written and collected after the round and calculated.
Words will be pronounced 2 times within 30 seconds by the announcer before time is up.
Participants are allowed to request definitions and part of speech for each word.
If there is a draw in the qualifying round, all personnel will advance into the finals.
Two finalists from each age group will battle for the championship of that group.
Ten rounds for each championship group. If there is a draw in a group, five rounds will be added to that group while the other groups return to their seats.
Finalists will be asked to spell a word in 60 seconds. If wrong, the next finalist will spell the same word.
Dress code for finalist: Semi-formal.
